1892 Single Shaft Pond

Mounted in ornate gold brooch setting

This scarce 1892 Single Shaft Pond is one of many that were mounted in

a jewellry setting, and so survived without being melted down or further

damaged or lost over the past 120+ years.

The grade of the gold alloy which comprises the brooch setting is unknown,

but the whole piece with combined weight of coin & setting is approx. 11.2g.

As can be seen from the photos, the coin is of a high grade

and at least a grade of Very Fine in my opinion.

I am located in Australia and have been collecting ZAR gold coins for a while. I bought
