Mintage - 15650 ( A GREAT COLLECTORS ITEM)

This auction is for a ZAR 1892 Double Shaft 1 Pond coin. The coin's all around detail is in very good order.The coin is one of the initial mints of the South African coin series. Strangly, the design was rejected by President Kruger because the engraver, Otto Schultz, engraved his initials O.S on the bust of Kruger. This "OS" in Dutch means "OX", regarded by President Kruger as a great insult. The second reason is that the wagon has two shafts on the coin, whereas it should only have one as used by the Boers in reality...
