This is a historic 1892 ZAR 5 Shillings double-shaft (Disselboom) coin, slabbed and graded AU53 by NGC. The double-shaft variety is notably scarcer than the single-shaft with only around 4,327 minted.
As a high-quality AU53 example, it shows light wear on the high points but retains a majority of its original detail. The silver content (.925) gives it both collector appeal and intrinsic metal value.
This variety is very desirable among collectors of Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek (ZAR) coinage.
