First Edition fropm 1893!!. Very good. Illustrated with photographic frontispiece. Condition much better than normal. Rough cut top edge. Spine slightly faded but gilt still bright. Neat contemporary name and address inside front board and contemporary name on front free endpaper. A bestseller in its day, the writer formed a special bond with black African people. Here he recounts stories and wild legends for the most part told round the campfire by black native people around that time. Africana.
