 This is an antique Cresolene vapo oil lamp used at the turn of the century for medicinal purposes. One would put the special vapo oil in the top holder and light the kerosene oil in the bottom font to heat it up. The holder is cast iron with a gold finish, good condition with no breaks or cracks. Top is metal with its original removable metal top plate. The holder is white ceramic.The oil font is glass, in good condition with no chips or cracks, embossed with 'Cresolene Vapo'. It has a brass collar, brass burner, all in good condition with wick raiser working well, wick included. It has a glass chimney. The box (no lid) is orig. with lovely graphics!
