A beautiful example which in my opinion is comfortably a 55 and is frankly closer to a 58 designation than to a 53...

But grade aside,this particular coin posseses a look which sets it apart from similarly graded examples,with lustrous surfaces remarkably free of surface contact marks for the type , a vibrant orange-toned patina overlies the rich gold planchet of this well-struck 1/2 pond, especially noticeable when caught by the light. Very seldom are gold coins encountered in a toned state and when they are, they normally fetch a premium.

A superior example and far nicer than your typical AU53 1/2 Pond.
