18ct Gold, Diamond, Enamel and Opal Dress Ring

The modern 18ct yellow gold dress ring has a domed, blue-enamelled head set in a twist-wire gold surround. An oval, cabochon-polished opal (9mm x7mm circa 0.5ct; white with blue and slight rose opalescence) is set into a star-shape surround, which is also studded with rose-cut diamonds (eight diamonds circa 0.015ct each; and eight diamonds circa 0.005ct each). This star-shaped surround is set on the domed enamelled head. The ring is unmarked but has been electronically scanned and confirmed to be 18ct yellow gold.
