1900 Pond AU55 - Good Lustre !!!

1900 Pond - Almost Uncirculated

Sought after coin and the last Pond made by the ZAR mint before the British Invasion of Pretoria on 9th June 1900. It was an incomplete mintage as a portion of the Ponden minted in 1900 were "kaal" and were taken (interestingly at gunpoint) from the Mint by the Boer forces retreating Eastwards.

Only 135 graded by NGC compared to 623, 1898 Ponden (4,7 times less)
