Rare Australian Fantasy 5 Shilling Coin

Today we have a lovely Silver variant Pattern Crown of Australia in a Proof Like condition.
The coin has not been officially graded so use the pictures as reference.
This coin formed a part of the Spink Patina collection and features the crowned Regal bust of Edward the 7 th on the obverse with the coat of arms of Australia on the reverse. It forms part of a series of fantasy coins produced to spark interest in commonwealth coinage, a proposed numismatic project for a series of legal tender coins creating a collection of "what if" British and British Colonial coins which could have existed but have always remained gaps in the coinage annals. The project was never realized, but the high quality portraits by British sculptor Donald R. Golder (DRG) were used in a very low mintage collection, that has become quite sought after in some cases. Mintages for the series ranged from 250 to a maximum of 1000 coins struck to prooflike standards.. This specimen is the Silver variant of this coin. The coin is a lovely Proof Like with good sheen and a frosted mirror like fields and will be an extremely proud addition to any collection.
