On the Nominal roll the information given is that Agent E. Thornton was with Brabant's Horse and Gorringes Flying Corps during the Boer War.
A photo of Agent E Thornton was published in the Cape Times Weekly Edition on the 6th of March 1901 on page 33 which indicates " picture here with identification of some from Graaff-Reinet with Brabant’s Horse. Named are: Nash, Maasdorp, Smith, E Thornton, Deacon, McCabe, White, Roberts, Viner, E J Thornton, Harris, Joseph." Photo not available but I am sure it has been archived on microfilm & can be obtained.
