1906 SOUTH AFRICANS SPRINGBOKS TEAM SQUAD PHOTO POST CARD. THE NAMES DO NOT MATCH THE POSITIONS IN THE PHOTOGRAPH.

It says that the photograph was printed at Manchester. I am not sure which tour game this was at.

After doing some research the personnel in the squad photo seem to be as follows:

(L to R) Standing: Marsburg, Jackson, Neill, Brookes, Reid, Millar, De Melker, Martheze, J. Le Roux, Mare.

Middle: Loubser, Daneel, Burger, Raaff, Mr. Carden (Manager), Roos (Capt.), DFT Morkel, Burmeister, Brink, Hirsch, H. de Villiers

Front: P. Carolin, A.F. Burdett , WS Morkel, P. Le Roux, Stegmann.

(The 26 people in the photograph) then,

Absent: J. Krige, S. Joubert. A. Morkel, FJ Dobbin. SA won all their games, except these: Lost to Scotland 6-0, Lost to Cardiff 17-0, Draw vs England 3-3.

To bring some extra life to this information, AF Burdett (1882-1918) is my 1st Cousin, 4 times removed.
