THIS ONE IS AN ABSOLUTE CUTIE !! MADE IN THE U.S.A. BETWEEN 1910-1940 OF SOLID COPPER AND DECORATED WITH A TYPICAL ARCHITECTURAL ART DECO DESIGN ON BOTH SIDES. WHEN NEW THIS KETTLE HAD A METAL BIRD THAT SAT ONTO THE SPOUT AND WHEN THE WATER BOILED WOULD WHISTLE.....SADLY THIS BIRD HAS FLOWN AWAY NEVER TO RETURN !! I HAVE TESTED THIS KETTLE AND WHEN THE WATER BOILS IT DOES GIVE A SOFT WHISTLE SOUND AND BEST OF ALL IT DOES NOT LEAK. I HAVE TO SAY IT LOOKS SO CUTE SITTING ON THE STOVE. THE HANDLE IS "TIN" PAINTED BLACK AND HELD IN PLACE FIRMLY WITH COPPER RIVETS. THE KETTLE DOES HAVE SOME MINOR "DINGS". THE SPOUT HAS A PIECE OF CORK CONTAINED INSIDE OF IT WHICH ROLLS AROUND WHEN THE WATER BOILS. HEIGHT UP TO THE HANDLE TOP 17cm, BASE DIA 17.7cm.
