Written by Robert Rene Meyer-See, a French art critic and dealer. He wrote for journals including American Art News, The Connoisseur, Gazette des Beaux Arts and Gil Blas. Meyer-See also ran the Marlborough Gallery and was one of the organisers of the exhibitions of Futurist painting at the Sackville Gallery in 1912.
