191415 Star Miniature Original First World War Service Award
Original miniature 191415 Star, as issued for service during the Great War.
The 191415 Star was instituted in December 1918 and awarded to all British and Imperial forces who served in any theatre of war between 5 August 1914 and 31 December 1915, excluding those who had already qualified for the 1914 Star (Mons Star). The star features a crowned monogram of King George V, crossed swords, and a laurel wreath, with a scroll bearing the recipient's service number, rank, name, and unit on the reverse. This miniature version was privately purchased for formal mess dress or miniature medal bars.
A superb addition for:
First World War medal collectors
British campaign medal enthusiasts
Great War militaria displays
Miniature medal specialists
Condition:
Good overall condition for age, with original ribbon present (the distinctive watered silk ribbon of red, white, and blue gradations) and fine detail visible to the obverse star design. Please examine photographs carefully for exact condition.
A highly desirable miniature of the second of the two Great War "star" medals, covering the full early period of the conflict from 1914 to the end of 1915.
