1907 Pattern Bayonet – Wilkinson Pall Mall – S.A. Police
This Bayonet comes complete with scabbard & frog. There are several markings that appear on the bayonet, most of which can be seen in the pictures. The main markings are on the blade near the crossgaurd:

The FLIP SIDE is difficult to make out: The obvious Broad Arrow (British Government acceptance mark), under this is what looks like 3J above an E (I think an Enfield inspection mark). The bottom line has three markings, the first is difficult to make out (possibly the crown/G.R./unknown), in the middle what I think is half an X which would represent the Bend test and finally on the far right the remnants of a totally illegible stamp.
The grips also have some markings, S.A.P. (South African Police) appears on one grip and then a crown (top) / T5 (middle) / E (bottom) appears on both grips which again I think is an Enfield inspection mark.
On the Pommel an arrow inside a U is stamped on one side just below the press stud representing The Union Of South Africa.
CONDITION: Please refer to pictures for the complete description. All in All, very good condition. In summary, the blade has been sharpened and has a small nick on the sharp edge towards the tip. Some blade markings are not very clear. The grips are in excellent condition with a few wear marks but stunning considering they are close on a hundred years old. The press stud works fine. The leather scabbard is in excellent condition despite a few wear marks/scratches. The leather Frog (extra - not original) is in good condition but does have fairly heavy signs of wear.
