A 1923 Mauritius 1 Cent, catalogued as KM#12, issued during the reign of King George V. This attractive early 20th-century colonial coin comes from the period when Mauritius formed part of the British Empire.
The obverse features the left-facing portrait of King George V, surrounded by the legend GEORGE V KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA. The reverse displays a large numeral 1 within a beaded circle, surrounded by MAURITIUS ONE CENT 1923.
Struck in bronze with a distinctive central hole, this denomination is an interesting example of the coinage produced for Mauritius during the British colonial period. The coin shows substantial circulation wear but retains clearly identifiable major design elements, date and denomination.

Circulated condition with considerable general wear, surface marks and areas of green oxidation/verdigris visible on both sides.
