On offer is this superb English made Dunhill Petrol Lighter. Silver plated with a machined 'grain d'orge' - or grain of rice pattern. The 1928 patent is the same year that the Dunhill lift arm was first registered. patent No. 288806. This item is listed as 'difficult to find' to 'rare'.
This is one of the most sought after Dunhill lighters with the engine turned pattern. This is a classic design which is not only rare and highly collectible but this particular model is one of Dunhill's earliest success stories. The Lift Arm Lighter features the more ergonomic flint wheel to make the lighter spark more efficiently and ignite seamlessly.
Beautiful condition, with a wonderfully warm patina, showing expected age toning, wear with silver plate worn to expose brass base metal. Item appears complete, however this is on offer and sold as is and as found. It needs a flint. Please study images below, and feel free to ask questions.
