An EXCELLENT example of a, 1930s Barclay's Bank South Africa , Metal Currency Storage Box w/ Internal Shelf Segment. This piece appears to be in a Fair state of preservation, with detailed Internal Shelf segment. All structural parts appear present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Original surface paint has been subject to excessive wear and remains in certain portions. Structural integrity remains good - note , wear visible at seam joints. Internal Shelf segment is mostly complete , only missing a single pull-ring fitting. The Metallic case disassembles well , allowing for two-part separation of all elements.
Piece opens and closes well, when engaged- allowing for ease of movement with hinge intact. Original key is NOT PRESENT- CANNOT BE LOCKED & REMAINS OPEN. Brass Chain-link pattern carry-handle has expired due to age related handling.
