1930s Foley Bone China Tea Trio
E, Brain & Co. Ltd were manufacturers of porcelain at Foley Works, Fenton from circa 1903 to 1963. Elijah Brain took over the Foley China Works from Robinson & Son in 1885 but continued to use the mark of "Robinson & Son" until 1903 when they used their own mark. The use of the name 'FOLEY' were extensively used on many different marks to 1963, with and without the initials 'E. B. & Co,' or the name in full. E Brain & Co took over the business of Coalport China in 1958 and since 1963 production has continued under the Coalport name. This item is a complete tea trio consisting of a tea cup, saucer and tea plate all in shades of pastel pink and green with a floral bouquet decorating each item and the cup having hand painted dotted pedestal base. All the items were rounded off with beautiful gold trim. STAMPS/MARKS: Stamped underneath Foley China EB & Co English Bone China Made in England. CONDITION: The gold trim on the items are faded due to age. Aside from the faded gold trim the items are in very good condition.
