1930's Treen Wooden Mechanical Bird

Vintage Cigarette Dispenser Pecking Bird with French Inlay Marquetry

Beautifully inlaid with 2 Scotty dogs. In fully working order with strong springed mechanism. When the lever is pushed down the bird pokes its beak downward and grabs a cigarette that slides out with the drawer in one smooth motion. Overall very good, with age related wear and gentle ageing.

Made from veneered pine with possibly a walnut veneer.

Treen, literally "of a tree" is the name for small handmade functional household items made of wood.
