A 1936 Mauritius ¼ Rupee, catalogued as KM#15, issued during the reign of King George V and struck in 91.6% silver. This attractive British colonial issue was produced during the final year of George Vs reign and had a relatively modest mintage of 400,000 pieces.

The obverse features the crowned and robed left-facing portrait of King George V, surrounded by the legend GEORGE V KING EMPEROR. The reverse carries the denomination QUARTER RUPEE, together with the date 1936, arranged around an ornate central design incorporating the crown and floral emblems.
