1937 Black Leica II with Leica Elmar 50mm F3.5 Lens

This is a date matching set, the lens and camera where both produced in 1937

The Camera is fully functional with quite a bit of paint loss and patina, but this is only cosmetic

The shutter is running smoothly at all speeds and the rangefinder is bright and clean

The lens is in excellent condition with some wear on the body

The glass is haze, fungus and scratch free with a few light cleaning marks

The focus is smooth and aperture blades are oil free

The lens is easily adapted to other camera platforms via an adapter

The Camera has had a Full CLA and is in great working condition

the reason the top plate was defaced was to avoid additional taxes on the camera when traveling,

this was a common occurrence back then
