A desirable 1939-A Germany 1 Reichspfennig, catalogued as KM#89, struck at the Berlin Mint (mint mark A) in bronze. Issued during the early years of the Third Reich, this coin features the denomination within an oak wreath on the obverse, while the reverse displays the German national eagle above a wreath enclosing the period emblem. The 1939 issue marks the first year of the Second World War, giving this coin particular historical significance within twentieth-century European numismatics.
The 1 Reichspfennig formed part of Germany's everyday circulating coinage and is an important representative of the pre-war monetary system. Collectors value these issues for their historical context, distinctive designs, and place within German numismatic history. An excellent addition to collections of German, World War II, and world coinage.
