1940's Egyptian Chess Set (Complete) 

Pieces are hand carved and highly detailed. Appear to be made from some sort of stone - The King has hieroglyphics written on the backs - no idea what this could depict 

Chess set sourced from a deceased estate who's father served in the military during WWII - set was brought back from Egypt and remained in the family. 

Board appears to be made from clay like terracotta but I'm speaking under correction here. Please do expect a handful of age related  scuff / chips marks on some of the pieces 

Board measures 42cm x 42cm

King being the tallest piece measures approx 10cm 

Set is heavy for size
