Original 1947 South Africa 3 Pence (3d) silver coin issued under King George VI, part of the Union of South Africa pre-decimal coinage.
The obverse shows the left-facing portrait of King George VI with the legend GEORGIVS VI REX IMPERATOR, while the reverse features the Protea flower flanked by bundles of sticks, symbolising unity and national growth.
