A well-preserved piece of British Colonial history from Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). This 1947 3-pence coin is a "first-year" issue for the copper-nickel composition, making it a key date for set-builders.

Key Features:

  • Obverse: Crowned portrait of King George VI facing left, with the legend "GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR".

  • Reverse: Features three African spears (assegais) dividing the date, with the denomination "3d" at the top.

  • Composition: Copper-Nickel.

  • Year: 1947.

  • Diameter: 16 mm.

Condition:

  • Grade: VF (Very Fine).

  • Details: The coin shows moderate, even wear typical of a circulated piece. The King's crown and the bindings on the spears remain clear and fully legible.
