Based on the high-resolution photos, here is my assessment of the condition and grading which is subjective and this is my opinion and based on my visual evidence Please note that "grading" was not done by any professional organisation or person but solely by my references to catalogues and other information. While I strive for accuracy, I cannot guarantee that all details and information are 100% correct.
Purchase decisions are made entirely at the buyers discretion.
1948 Southern Rhodesia - 3 d
Obverse (King's Side)
Details: The crown shows some flattening on the high points (the crosses and fleurs-de-lis), and the Kings ear and hair lack fine detail.
Surfaces: There are numerous small "bag marks" and light scratches across the field and the portrait. The portrait is distinct, but significant wear is present on the highest relief areas.
Reverse (Spearheads Side)
Details: The spearheads are well-defined, though the central rib of the spears shows even wear. The lettering and date are crisp and clear.
Surfaces: The fields are relatively clean but show standard circulation marks. The reverse has held up slightly better than the obverse, maintaining sharp edges on the spears and text.
1948 Southern Rhodesia - 6 d
Obverse (Front)
Observation: There is significant wear on the "high points" of the kings crown and hair, which have flattened. However, the facial features and the inscriptions are still clear and legible. There is some surface spotting and environmental toning (darker patches) that are common for copper-nickel coins of this age.
Reverse (Back)
Observation: The detail on the crossed axes is relatively well-preserved, though the texture on the handles has started to smooth out. The lettering and date remain sharp. The rim is mostly intact with minor "nicks" or "bag marks" consistent with a coin that was in circulation.
Authenticity:
I guarantee this coin to be authentic.
