This is an original 1949 East Africa 1 Shilling coin, issued under King George VI, when the East African territories (Kenya, Uganda, Tanganyika, and Zanzibar) were under British administration.

Design Features:

Obverse: Portrait of King George VI facing left, crowned, legend GEORGIVS SEXTVS REX.
Reverse: A majestic lion striding before Mount Kilimanjaro, with denomination 1 SHILLING and date 1949 below.
