1961 Sierra Leone commemorating its independence in 1961

Vintage postage stamp from Sierra Leone, commemorating its independence in 1961 and featuring Sir Milton Margai.
It is a 6 pence lilac and grey stamp.
The design includes the Coat of Arms, specifically a lion.
The text on the stamp reads "INDEPENDENCE 1961" and "SIERRA LEONE SIR MILTON MARGAI".
This image shows a
1964 Sierra Leone postage stamp featuring Sir Milton Margai, the country's first Prime Minister.
The stamp is a decimal surcharge issue. It was originally printed in 1961 with a value of 6 pence (6d) as part of the Independence series but was later overprinted with a new value of 20 cents (20c) when Sierra Leone decimalized its currency in 1964.
Key Features of the Stamp
Subject: Sir Milton Margai (18951964), a medical doctor who led Sierra Leone to independence from the UK on April 27, 1961.
Vignette: A lion, symbolizing the country's name (Sierra Leone means "Lion Mountains").
Inscription: "INDEPENDENCE 1961" across the top and "SIERRA LEONE" at the bottom.
Surcharge: The orange-brown "20c" overprint covers the original "6d" denomination.

Please Note: On the Bank Notes I am not using Uncirculaded in the description because there are different opinions on what a UNC note or coin is.
Colours depicted in the photos of items may differ from the actual colour of the items due to many factors including the light and the time of day that the photos are taken.
I always try to get the description 100% correct with some research but can get it wrong sometimes ..
