Note to the buyer
Based on the high-resolution photos, here is my assessment of the condition and grading which is subjective and this is my opinion and based on my visual evidence Please note that "grading" was not done by any professional organisation or person but solely by my references to catalogues and other information. While I strive for accuracy, I cannot guarantee that all details and information are 100% correct.
Purchase decisions are made entirely at the buyers discretion.
Obverse (Van Riebeeck Side):
There is noticeable "greying" or environmental toning across the surface. While the main features of the portrait are visible, the fine details in the hair and the lace of the collar are somewhat flattened from wear.
Reverse (Shield Side):
The shield details (the ox wagon, the orange tree, etc.) are still distinguishable but show significant smoothing. There are some dark spots (toning/corrosion) near the date "1963."
Overall Condition:
I would grade this as VF (Very Fine) to VF-35. It is a solid circulated specimen with clear legends, but it lacks the luster or sharp detail of an uncirculated coin.
Authenticity:
I guarantee this coin to be authentic.
