Issued in 1965 to commemorate the life and legacy of Sir Winston Churchill, this iconic British Crown remains one of the most recognisable commemorative coins of the twentieth century. Struck by the Royal Mint shortly after Churchill's passing, it was the first British coin to feature a non-royal individual, marking a significant moment in British numismatic history.

The reverse depicts a distinguished right-facing portrait of Churchill by renowned sculptor Oscar Nemon, while the obverse features the youthful portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Mary Gillick. Measuring 38.6 mm in diameter and struck in copper-nickel, the Churchill Crown has long been a favourite among collectors of British, Commonwealth and world coinage.
