Japanese 500 Yen banknote, featuring a prominent image of Mount Fuji on the reverse side. 
Banknote Type: This is a Series C 500 Yen note issued by the Bank of Japan.  
Historical Usage: These banknotes were in circulation from 1969 until they were withdrawn in 1994, after being replaced by 500 yen coins. 
 Design: The reverse side displays Mount Fuji, with "NIPPON GINKO" (Bank of Japan) written in Latin script at the top.
