A Full 1 Oz Gold Krugerrand dated 1974. Graded by SANGS: "Mint Error - Engraving Error Lines on Bust".
The concentric circular engraving lines are clearly visible in the obverse. My guess is that these lines were deliberately applied at the Mint, and were intended as some form of quality control test marks. The error made by the Mint is that this strike should never have been released to the public but melted.
The main coin images were taken before the coin was sent to SANGS for encapsulation.
