1976 South African National Parks Board 50th anniversary bronze medal in box as per images.Diameter of about 38mm.Please note the outside of the box shows some age related wear which is to be expected.

Obverse:View of the Kruger Monument at the Kruger Gate to the Kruger National Park. Signed: "CLS" at the foot.

Reverse:The emblem of the Parks Board, a Kudu head within a shield and motto: "CUSTOS NATURAE". Signed: "ALS" below motto on right. Across: "1926 (left) 1976 (right)" Legend above: "NASIONALE PARKERAAD" and below: "NATIONAL PARKS BOARD". 

Notes:Coert L. Steynberg (1905-1982) was a renowned South African sculptor best known for his statue of Paul Kruger, found at the Kruger-gate, Kruger National Park. The representation of the statue on this medallion was also designed by him. His most famous coin design is the prancing springbok first produced for the silver 5 Shillings piece in 1947 and subsequently on the gold Krugerrand.

The Minister of Lands, Piet Grobler, successfully moved the National Parks Bill in Parliament on 31 May 1926.
