1976 SADF Border War Helmet by C.J.Fuchs Ltd. Complete and Original.

A SADF Border War "Staaldak" helmet complete with netting camouflage.  Has the inner shell "doppie" with leather headband and strap. Outer shell's strap intact and functional. Clearly stamped C.J.FUCHS LTD. and dated 1976.  In good vintage condition with no dents.

The mainstay of the South African Armed Forces for many years was the "Staaldak" also knows as the Fuchs Helmet or OTAN Helmet or M51, depends on who you ask, but most refer to it as the Staaldak. The helmet was made under licence by "C J Fuchs Ltd" from 1961, based on the French M51 helmet with minor adjustments.
