A beautiful 1977 South Africa 1 Rand coin in Uncirculated (UNC) condition, featuring the iconic Springbok antelope design by sculptor Coert Steynberg the same classic motif that appears on the Krugerrand.

The obverse bears the South African Coat of Arms with the bilingual inscription SUID-AFRIKA / SOUTH AFRICA. The reverse shows the leaping Springbok and the motto SOLI DEO GLORIA (To God Alone the Glory).

This issue marks one of the last years the R1 was struck in nickel, before transitioning to smaller, modern coinage making it a sought-after collectors piece.
