Early 1980s KwaZulu Natal Studio Pottery Collection

This is a cohesive collection of 9 hand thrown studio pottery pieces originating from the Durban North Coast, Tinley Manor area.

All pieces are individually hand incised with the letter A using a sharp tool rather than a stamp, indicating small scale independent studio production.

One piece is dated 82, confirming early 1980s manufacture.

Layered red slip beneath pale slip
Iron rich brown tenmoku style glazes
