Collectible 1982 SA Long Proof Set including R1 silver coin, excludes gold coins, in original red long box

This is a South African Long Proof Set (1975-1983) for 1982 that includes the silver R1 coin but excludes the gold coins. The SA Mint stopped producing the Long Proof Sets in the Red Boxes with gold in 1983. Over time the gold R1 and R2 were removed from the long proof sets, however it is possible to acquire these if you wish to complete the set. This set was originally acquired without the gold coins, so it is in the same condition as when it was bought. These coins were not circulated and is still in its original South African Mint (SAM) long red box. The coins are in excellent condition. The box is in a very good condition but does show some wear and marks on the outside, there is however no damage. As we are not specialists in the field of coins, we do not grade the few items we do offer for sale.
