This bottle of wine has been kept on its side in a small wine rack below a bar counter. It has never been opened or tampered with. Certificate number is worn off. As essential as prime grapes are in the making of great wines, Simonsig winemaker Johan Malan's adherence to traditional winemaking ideals and quest for excellence, is the life force of this legendary wine estate outside Stellenbosch. Johan qualified in Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch and completed his first harvest at Simonsig in 1982.
