This 1983 South African partial proof set is presented in its original blue velvet-lined case and includes six coins from the decimal series struck in proof quality. The set features the smaller denominations from the period, showcasing the detailed wildlife and floral designs characteristic of South African coinage of the early 1980s.
Included in this set are the ½ cent, 1 cent, 2 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, and 50 cents coins, all dated 1983. These coins display sharp strikes and mirrored fields typical of proof issues, making them attractive to both collectors of South African numismatics and those assembling year sets. The obverse of each coin bears the South African coat of arms, while the reverses depict iconic designs such as the springbok and protea.
Please note that this is an incomplete (partial) proof set, as the 5 cent and R1 coins are not present, with the empty slots clearly visible in the case.
Coins appear to be in proof condition, with strong detail and reflective fields. Some light toning may be present on certain coins. The original presentation case shows minor wear and light marks consistent with age and storage. Missing slots for the 5c and R1 coins.
