So here is what I have done:
1. Reconditioned Motor R 9,000
2. Reconditioned Gearbox R 6,500
3. Reconditioned Driveshaft R 500
4. Reconditioned Brakes R 2,000
5. Reconditioned Radiator R 1,500
6. Reconditioned Clutch Cyl R 1,000
7. Installed a new clutch R 1,500
8. Installed new shocks R 1,600
9. Installed a new battery R 750
10. Installed a new exhaust R 3,500
Then I did the following:
1. Resprayed the car (Alfa Red) R 7,500 (There are some faults with the new spray job, but these are easily attended to.)
2. Bought MOMO Suicide Wheels R 3,000
3. Put on a set of Pirelli's R 3,000
4. Re-did the electrics R 2,500
I've actually forgotten some of the other stuff I've done with this thing. I have the invoices for a most of the above.
That's a total of R 43,850 (of what I can remember) excluding what I bought the car for.
The reconditioned car has done about 15000km and has just had it's first service. It runs like an absolute dream. Fuel consumption is about 11 - 12L/100km, more if you push it. It is lightning fast, naturally aspirated with twin carbs. Golf GTI's, etc are only seen in your rear view. ;-)
I would say the car is 99% complete. There are only a few very minor things to attend to.
I'm very reluctantly putting it up for sale. It should preferably go to someone who is at least slightly knowledgeable about cars, this is an Italian machine and must be treated as such.
This is a hell of a lot of car for very little money.
Also might willing to swap for WHY.
