10 unused 1994 R.S.A. official National ballot papers in mint condition. In sequence with counterfoil / control tab
Own a piece of history. Share with friends and family or keep them for yourself.
First South African democratic election. Most parties contesting a general election.
With Nelson Mandela as A.N.C. leader.
These will not be around for long and cannot be reprinted.
PLEASE IGNORE THE ABOVE SCAN. WHAT MAKES THESE BALLOT PAPERS SO VERY RARE
IS THAT THE IFP PARTY STICKER IS MISSING.
The IFP decided to join the general election late thus were added with a sticker at the bottom.
However some ballot paper books did not get the IFP sticker making it impossible for their supporters
to vote for them. There was an urban legend going around at the time that many of the votes for the National
Party were meant for the IFP. The story goes that because there were so many parties taking part in this
election many IFP supporters were told to vote for the party right at the bottom. Some ballot papers without the
IFP sticker were thus marked as a vote for the National Party. Urban legend ?
THESE ARE VERY, VERY RARE AND HAVE NOT BEEN TAMPERED WITH. I ONLY CAME UPON
THEM RECENTLY AND HAVEN'T HAD THEM SCANNED YET.
