Magnificent & Extremely RARE ~ A genuine 19th century Austrian Art Nouveau RStK Turn-Teplitz Amphora Figurine [Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel] - Unboxed

Amphora Factory Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel, Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary (Trnovany, Czech Republic),  magnificent statue of Elisabeth Stellmacher

Amphora RStK Turn Teplitz Bohemia Austria
Rare and Early design
cca. 1892

An exceptionally rare example of Art Nouveau figurine of a young woman, manufactured around year 1892 by RStK (Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel) Amphora, Turn-Teplitz (Bohemia, Austria).

This important piece, done with the finest of craftsmanship, has the unique style that differs from the usual Amphora aesthetic. The composition is more restrained, the clothing less extravagant – there is nothing that would distract the attention from the overall beauty of this work of art.  Amphora collectors are by now familiar with this extraordinary beauty, as Elisabeth Stellmacher, the lovely wife of Eduard Stellmacher and the sister of Paul Dachsel, are depicted in a few of these early creations.  Another one still in existence is the bust of this very same model.  If judged by the specific subtleness of style as well as on Elisabeth’s age at the time, this statue belongs to the very early days of RStK and, quite possibly, this is one of the first manufactured by them.

It is marked with the signature red stamp of Amphora RStK and the incised number 1001 (which also confirms this is one of the early models).

Extremely rare and highly collectable.

Height:  +-39 cm

The condition is good for it's age of more than a century.  Good with typical minor flower petal chipping that is not too distracting. The end of the ribbon is missing on the lady's dress. The extended hair-decoration is also missing.  These are only noticeable at very close inspection.  Gentle cleaning would be required. Other than this, the sculpture is simply exquisite in its simplicity and utter beauty.  The photo below shows her extraordinary beauty as she is at the moment.

Amazing detail - close-up image of the right hand holding part of the dress.

Close-up detail of the left hand holding the dress.

Detail of the tree-stump at her back.

Look at the detail of the lacy petticoat, the leafs and the tree-stump!!

Below some close-up photos of visible damage to flowers, the missing hair-piece and the back of the ribbon.

Please note:  More photos on request.

Thank you for looking!
