19th Century Brass Pot with Copper Rivets & Cast Iron Handle

Size: LARGE 30x18cm        Weight  Solid 5kgs

The pot is in the style of the 19th jam pot that I see listed from time to time on eBay, Etsy and Ruby Lane. These pots sell in antique stores for well over R1500.00 usually closer to or over R2500.00 I have been Blessed to own 4 of these treasures. The kettle is best described as a 19th Century Brass with Copper Rivets & Cast Iron Handle. This is based on the clues from it's structure.Could have traditionally be used for making large quantities of jam, or casserole. It has been well used and although in excellent condition shows a few dings of a much loved piece. No leaks or holes. The bottom is slightly dented, but it still sits flat. Handle is firmly secured with solid copper rivets! I have included a picture of this pot prior to polishing. Please do your own research if you are purchasing this piece for cooking purposes! Otherwise, it will display beautifully and make a great addition to any collection.
