This Set remains in a GOOD, USED CONDITION- Knife Blade and Handle appear to complete & secure. Bone Chopstick Utensils are included . Scabbard appears to sheath items well & features retention hanger loop. ** NOTE : One Chopstick has been subject to breakage / shortening due to handling & age-related wear. **ITEMS ARE SECOND-HAND AND HAVE BEEN SUBJECT TO USAGE.**

An EXCELLENT example of a 19th Century, Chinese Manchu Silverplated Trousse Knife & Utensil Set with Turquoise & Jasper Stone Inlay. This Set remains in a well-preserved state, with the Knife Hilt & Scabbard having been ornamented with a Manchu 'Long' or Azure Dragon design motif throughout. One of the Chopstick utensils has been subject to handling related wear , and a few of the Turquoise & Jasper Medallions on the Scabbard have expired due to age. The introduction of the Trousse , followed the movement of Tungusic-speaking Manchurian tribes into what is now , Northern China. This customary item associated with the Qing Dynasty, was influenced by the Manchu tradition of cutting and preparing meat for consumption directly from the slaughter process.

The ideal addition to any Late 19th Century Manchurian/ Chinese Edged-weapon / knife collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique piece for their assortment.
