Rapidly gaining in popularity among US buyers, the 1oz Mexican Silver Libertad 2016 Bullion Coin is one of our favourites. The 2016 issue marks the 35th Anneversary of the coin, since its inception in 1982, and remains an incredibly low mintage coin compared to other popular choices. Minted by the Casa de Moneda de Mexico, the oldest mint in North America and established in 1536, the Mexican Libertad is something special, it just has a certain something about it.
The 1oz Mexican Silver Libertad 2016 Bullion Coin is struck in .999 Fine Silver, and features the winged Victoria of Mexican Independence, atop a victory column, in front of a landscape featuring the volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl. The Obverse features the Mexican Coat of Arms, surrounded by 10 historical Mexican Coats of Arms.
While the 1oz Mexican Silver Libertad 2016 Bullion Coin doesn’t carry a face value, it is still guaranteed by Banco de Mexico as a sovereign bullion coin. The Mexican Libertad sells out fast, so ensure you get your hands on a few while they are in stock! While there is no numismatic value to these bullion coins, they are considered very limited in mintage, very rarely ever exceeding 1 000 000 per year.
