2 Decorative Stoneware Chargers.
Despite several searches, I have not found conclusive answers on who made these chargers. All I can confirm is that they are Stamped with the letter C at the back.
Research Suggested:
THIS
The stoneware charger plate appears to be part of the Pfaltzgraff Winterberry collection. Design: The plate features the classic Winterberry holly and berry design with an embossed pattern around the rim. Material: It is made from durable stoneware, consistent with the materials used in the Pfaltzgraff Winterberry line. Colour: The vibrant red colour is a common feature of the holiday-themed Pfaltzgraff Winterberry dishware.
AND THIS.
This charger plate appears to be a Tognana product, likely made in Italy. Tognana has been involved in ceramics manufacturing since 1775, transitioning to porcelain in 1946, and continues to produce various tableware items today. The specific plate you have is likely a modern item from one of their recent lines, possibly an "Imperial Red" or "Party Time" charger, often made of polypropylene rather than ceramic.
AND THEN SETTLED ON THIS.
The plate in the image, featuring an embossed border of leaves and berries (likely holly), is very similar in style to mass-produced items from several manufacturers. It is most likely a Bordallo Pinheiro item from Portugal, specifically part of their Poinsettia (Christmas) or a similar holiday line. This company is well known for producing high-quality, majolica-style earthenware with distinct, nature-inspired designs and vibrant glazes.
The square stamp with the letter "C" on the back likely refers to a specific pattern number, production run, or perhaps a decorator's initial, which is a common practice in pottery manufacturing. However, without a clear image of the entire backstamp, a definitive identification based solely on the "C" is difficult as many manufacturers use initials or monograms.
The plate remains consistent with the style of a mass-produced item, potentially by Bordallo Pinheiro or a similar company like American Atelier. These companies produce highly decorative, nature-themed tableware and often use simple backstamps that can be difficult to trace without further context or an image of the full surrounding marks and country of origin. The specific maker's mark is likely part of a broader set of identification details not fully visible.
Bordallo Pinheiro is a renowned Portuguese brand established in 1884, famous for its intricate, nature-inspired, majolica-style ceramics (earthenware). They are known for vibrant glazes and designs that mimic natural forms like leaves, fruits, and animals.
