2 Lovely vintage wooden cigarette dispensers for 1 bid. This lovely lot consists of:
A lovely hand made marquetry cigarette dispenser. I think that this box may be Turkish in origin, dating back to the 1950/60s. It has very fine marquetry detail - must have taken hours to make. It is made to hold 10 cigarettes, with a sliding top opening the dispenser. It measures 12.5cm x 8cm. It is in good condition for its age.
A vintage Japanese marquetry/ veneer duck cigarette dispenser. I would estimate that this dispenser dates back to the 1950s. It operates by moving the lever next to the duck, after which the drawer opens opposite the bird, and the bird goes down to pick up a cigarette in its beak. The sides appear to be veneer, while the top seems to be marquetry. It measures 15cm x 9.5cm. It is in working condition - bit of veneer loss.
