Raw unsulfured molasses with suspended solids, made from organically grown sugarcane in northern KwaZulu-Natal. Free from additives and preservatives such as sodium benzoate or sulfur dioxide that is normally added during the conventional production of sugar.
Molasses is a dense liquid produced during the production of sugar from sugarcane and is filled with carbohydrates, amino acids, vitamins, proteins and minerals. It is useful as an organic fertilizer to condition the soil and promote microbial growth that allows plants to grow better and provides essential nutrients for healthy plant development. It assists with soil aeration and water retention. It can also be used to supplement animal feed to give your livestock a nutritious treat and is suitable for human consumption.
This product contains micro-solids that are normally removed as filter-cake from the sugar refining process. These are bagasse pieces < 500 µm in size and are especially useful when added to the soil. They promote microbial attachment and allow for the slow release of nutrients, while increasing the surface area for soil aeration.
Directions:
Seedlings: 2-4 mL/L water every two weeks, starting with low dosages. Growth Blooming: 2-5 mL/L water every week. Molasses overfeeding is less stressful than with synthetic fertilizers, but must be monitored for potential burns. This product is acidic and in new and unconditioned soils it is recommended to monitor soil pH.
