2001/2 Finland last year of the Markka uncirculated coin set in its original packaging.This set is dedicated to the history of the Finnish Markka.The set includes 5 coins (10 and 50 Pennia, 1, 5 and 10 Markka) and a commemorative token with the image of the famous Finnish philosopher and statesman Johan Snellman.In 2002 Finland moved over to the Euro coinage.Please note the outside of the packaging shows some slight wear on the edges and corners.The coins are all lustrous uncirculated.

Johan Vilhelm Snellman (12 May 1806, Stockholm, Sweden 4 July 1881, Kirkkonummi, Finland) was a Finnish philosopher, writer, journalist and statesman, one of the most famous Fennomans of the 19th century.He played a key role in the establishment of the Finnish language as the official language of Finland and the Finnish Markka as the Finnish national currency.

On May 12, Snellman's birthday, Finland celebrates "Snellman Day" or "Day of Finnish Identity" (Finnish: Suomalaisuuden päivä). On this day, the national flag is raised annually over Finland.
